Elementary Outdoor Classroom Project

The foundation has committed to providing funding for an outdoor classroom project located in the main courtyard at Saltsburg Elementary School. Currently, the courtyard houses some planter boxes, where students plant flowers each spring. Our vision for the space includes a reading area (accessible from the library), a classroom area for instructional purposes, and a biology area where students can learn about plant life and be responsible for growing and harvesting plants and vegetables.
